Frenectomies

A frenectomy is a simple and gentle procedure used to release a tight or restrictive frenulum—the small band of tissue that connects the tongue to the floor of the mouth (tongue-tie) or the upper lip to the gums (lip-tie). When this tissue is too tight, it can interfere with normal oral function and development.

In children, an untreated tongue-tie or lip-tie may contribute to challenges with breastfeeding, speech development, oral hygiene, spacing between teeth, or discomfort when eating and speaking. A frenectomy can help improve mobility, comfort, and overall oral function when clinically indicated.

Our team carefully evaluates each child to determine whether a frenectomy is necessary. If recommended, the procedure is performed efficiently and gently, with a strong focus on comfort and reassurance. Parents are fully informed every step of the way, and we provide clear aftercare instructions to support healing at home.

We understand that any procedure can feel intimidating for both children and parents, which is why we prioritize a calm, supportive environment and a compassionate, child-centered approach.
